General Laborers – 1st Shift

ARC Abrasives’ Production Department is seeking to add General Laborers/Machine Operators to our facility in Troy, Ohio. The purpose of this role is to operate a machine at production standards while meeting quality and safety standards in the manufacturing of coated and non-woven abrasives.

Please keep in mind, we are only looking to fill 1st shift.

• 1st shift hours – Monday – Thursday from 5:00 am – 3:30 pm
• 2nd shift hours – Monday – Thursday from 3:00 pm – 1:30 am
• 3rd shift hours – Sunday – Wednesday from 7:00 pm – 5:30 am

Responsibilities Include

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work orders
  • Pull correct material and fill out proper paper work
  • Setting up and operating machinery
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds or more depending on position
  • Utilizes material to eliminate excess scrap and waste
  • Reports any material, or machine problems to Supervisor or Manager
  • Maintains a clean safe, and organized work area at the end of each shift
  • Responsible for cleaning and organizing your area
  • Work well in a team environment

Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition and subtraction, and to multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to use and read a tape measure

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Continually required to stand and walk
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Continually required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, or kneel
  • Continually required to talk or hear
  • Frequently required to utilize visual acuity to operate equipment and read technical information
  • Frequently required to lift/push/carry items more than 20 pounds or more depending on department
  • Frequently work near moving mechanical parts
  • Frequently loud noise (example: abrasive machinery)
