Material Handler

ARC Abrasives’ Production Department is seeking to add a Material Handler to our facility in Troy, Ohio. The purpose of this role is to perform a combination of tasks including but not limited to receiving, filling, shipping, and handling work orders accurately and in a timely manner; efficiently and safely loads, unloads, and conveys material to be slit. Other tasks would include cleaning and organizing the warehouse when needed.

We are looking to fill 1st Shift: 6:00AM – 2:30PM

Responsibilities Include

  • Receives, locates, and transfers materials accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work orders
  • Pulling material and creating slit tickets for the jumbo and small slitter
  • Releasing work orders from computer system to pull material
  • Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to hand truck, forklift, and/or dolly
  • Is responsible for cleaning and organizing the warehouse
  • Maintains a safe, clean work environment

Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years related experience or equivalent
  • Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods
  • Forklift certified preferred, but will train and certify
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Strong Organizational & Communication skills
  • Mathematical skills

  • Frequently required to utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use keyboard
  • Frequently required to lift/push/carry items more than 50 pounds
  • Frequently work near moving mechanical parts
  • Frequently loud noise (example: abrasive machinery)
